Ways to thicken acrylics?

I have recently gotten into painting and was wondering if there were any thickening agencies for acrylic paint. Because I am not a very experienced painter, I don't want to buy expensive oil paints (plus, I have no idea how to handle them:) or how to clean the brushes). I tried to use flour to thicken my paint once, and although it sort of worked, it ruined my brushes and created a very flaky and crusty texture to the finished product. Any suggestions?

Best attractions/activities in New Zealand South Island?

Christchurch, even after the devastating earthquakes is still a lovely city. If you travel round the port hills you can see for miles. You can drive from there to the hot springs at Hanmer, the West Coast is only a few hours drive away with Arthur's Pass kinda in the middle of the journey and the scenery through there is stunning although I would have to say you cant beat Christchurch in Spring. September is beautiful with all the flowers out so you will miss that but it should still be pretty. It can get fairly hot Jan to March (I was there in Jan 05 it got over 40 degrees) The top of the South Island north of Kaikoura has its own attractions, Nelson is very laid back almost hippy like (but in a good way) I could go on for hours about the South Island but you get the joy of experiencing it for yourself. Guilt of Coming Out Of The Closet?

I'm currently in the closet about my sexuality but not for the reason you think. I'm bisexual and have known this ever since I was six I probably Like Boys 60% girls 40%. I recently came out to myself about 2 months ago. Nobody knows that I'm bisexual except for me.So anyway last year at my school a guy came out and he got alot of attention from some of the girls. In order to get from San Antonio to Sacramento and stop in L.A. on the way, you don't have time to see much else in 6 days. If you want to see some more nature sites (like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc.), you would have to leave L.A out of the picture. Draw a line on a map from Texas to Sacramento. Marriage hasn't failed, and its not a construct some 100 years old, its around as long as recorded civilization. What has happened is progressive liberals have realized that reducing your reliance on existing old institutions like church + marriage increases your reliance on government, which increases their power. So they have pursued over the last few hundred years policies that do all they can to break down existing institutions other then government. Its pretty obvious if you look at it - support for vague spirituality but any specific religion is a problem, teaching that the children are more important than the spouse, the whole "do what feels good" movement, etc.

While I was playing Minecraft, I discovered an underground cavern. Creativity Problems! Help?!!!!?

So I consider myself artistic but I've always been an observational drawer/painter. I'm creative in the concepts of the idea I want to portray in a piece but when it comes to drawing up a person or the way a certain object looks I can't imagine it in my head. For the past couple of yrs I have been struggling with depression. I have went to one counselor,but she didn't really help much, so I am waiting ot get my insurance back to start going to another counselor.. Photoshop brush strokes keep switching from pen pressure to mouse pressure?

Oil or acrylic paint? (Bob Ross style painting)?

Well oil takes a very long time to dry, this can be an advantage or disadvantage as if you want to work on it for a prolonged period of time and blend some colors it may be better to use oil. The think that annoyed me most is that the Brushes are a pain to clean. You have to keep cleaning them in white spirit - it's annoying. Not much help i know but thats my experience :-)

Avalon Code Tornaq Caverns Help?

I have been playing this and while most of the other rooms were stupid easy, I can't get past room 15. This is the room where you must light both torches at the same time, but they go out after a couple seconds. It was pretty obvious that you had to smash open the ice with a fire weapon, place a charged bomb, run to the other one, and use your fire weapon on it while setting off the bomb. The only problem is I can't get the bomb to start the fire. I can't get it exactly on the torch it is always next to it is this why?

You're probably relieved because, even though you like him, the constant thinking about him takes it's toll and it interferes with your everyday life. You can now start to move on and concentrate on other things. You know deep down this guy isn't interested so at least you're not still holding on to the hope that he wants you. Is it illegal for my management to charge me for something I didn't do?

Inhaled primer dust will i be ok?

I can see no reason why this should not be possible. You would need a lens with a very long focal length, and that might be a difficulty. Also, the image would be very large on account of the great focal length, and, being large, would also be quite faint, but that might not be a problem in the darkness of a cave.

I don't know a whole lot. I have a few friends who are international students. Honestly, as far as I can tell, its all about the visa the guy gets. As long as he doesn't get a student visa and start working or get a work visa and start as a student, he should be fine. Tons of information. Mostly, as I said, make sure he gets the right visa. How to create a "drag/attraction" effect in a painting?

OK, picture a solid color of bright red on a canvas. I'm thinking of oil paint, Let it dry a bit. Now mix some off white paint and add some varnish to thin the color so that as you drag the brush loaded with the white across the canvas it shows some of the red and gives an effect like when you open the freezer on a hot day. You have just discovered one of the great paint techniques. Sometimes painters use many coats of this glaze to get a certain look.

How can I take pictures on a ride?

I am going to Virginia for the week and we plan to go to Busch Gardens for a day. I would like to take a few pictures on the actual rides. Good homemade decorations for a teen girl bedroom?

I'm working on my bedroom and I'd like to make some decorations. I'm painting my walls light purple in a couple of weeks and I need to go through everything in my room. I cleared up A LOT of storage by putting a lot of my pictures into frames and into a couple of collages. My mom laughed and said, "You and your collages!" I'm almost fifteen and my room still gives off a kid vibe to me. I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff, like art I did in middle school. I am keeping my wood shop projects though. Don't suggest collages please cause I'm making more once I get some magazines I can cut up. I have beads, glue, foam, foam glue (heehee), computer paper, colored pencils, paints, canvas (I'm a painter), and I was thinking of doing something with my card collection. I have cards backing from the time I was seven up until now. By cards I mean Christmas and birthday cards. I also take the pictures from my calender and put them on the wall as posters. I love taking pictures, but I won't be taking any until next month when I'm on vacation with my family. Any other ideas of what to do with my pictures besides putting them in frames, on my cork board, and in collages? I have photo albums, but I like to have my pictures out in the open.
