What is a jetski ride plate?

the ride plate is behind the intake grate,just below the pump nozzle.it would be best to have it bead blasted,and be sure to use a zinc chromate primer before the top coat.as far as cost? shouldn't be much,but that depends on who you take it to and how soon you want it back.
